RESEARCH PROJECTS

“Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.”

- Albert Einstein -

Investigated the effects of pH, isopropanol (IPA), additives and ionic compounds on the viscosity and particle size distributions of citrus fiber suspensions. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) was used to study the particle size distributions of the citrus fiber suspensions. Sum frequency generation (SFG) vibrational spectroscopy was used to analyze cellulose microfibril orientation in the secondary cell walls of different types of plant samples, including citrus fibers.

Presented poster during the 2019 AiChE Student Conference Symposium.

Water Hydrolysis and Methanol Reforming for PEM Fuel Cells
Automated In-situ Biosensor
Understanding the Relationship between Citrus Fiber Suspension Rheology and the Mesoscale Arrangement of its Fibers

Tasked with finding and studying research papers regarding methods of biochip sterilization that least impacted the integrity of the microfluidic canals and presented findings to the rest of the team at the end of the semester. Also analyzed the cleanliness and microorganism presence in different bodies of water in and around the university campus.
